Choosing for Children

Quads come in lots of different sizes, shapes, and the Apache Children/Teenager range currently has power capabilities starting from 50cc's. Parents need to take account of the size of the child, their experience, age and capability. All children and teenagers under the age of 16 should ALWAYS be closely supervised by an adult at all times when operating a quad. Children should ALWAYS wear full protective clothing including a proper motorcycle helmet (see Apache Quad Gear page), and protective gloves, goggles, and clothing.

The smallest Apache Quad - the Mini Tomahawk 50cc is the perfect mini starter quad. It has many in built safety features including remote cut off fob, which means that if the child is becoming too adventurous for comfort, the parent can turn off the engine up to 100 metres away. The Apache RLX 100 is still the most popular children's quad in the UK - an outstanding, easy to ride all rounder. There is a premium model known as the SX 100 S SilverSport, which costs a little more than the standard RLX 100, but has a host of additional features such as reverse gear and a speedo. Then there's the hugely popular F100 'S' High Performance Quad for the seriously talented rider, which was introduced a few months ago. The new F100 'S' is regularly seen in the winners enclosure at an increasing number of quad racing meetings throughout the UK and this model will be seen on the British Championship Circuits throughout this season. Its super wide axles, give maximum stability and incredible handling. If you can get hold of one of these new F100's you will be lucky - they sell out as fast as we can manufacture them!

So what should you look at:

Children's Quad - For the small child - wanting a first quad, then there is nothing better than the Mini 50 cc Tomahawk. But if this quad is deemed too small for the child, the next best option is the hugely popular RLX 100. Racing Quad - For the experienced competitive child/teenager, there is the new F100 'S' High Performance 'Liquid Cooled' 100cc Quad. This is a serious, high quality machine built to perform. Choosing Off Road for Adults

You need to first decide what type of off road quad biking you'd like to do, and then select the most suitable from the wide choice of Apache Quads on offer from Quads Direct Ltd. You will need to consider such factors as how fast you wish to go, how much you wish to spend, and whether you require automatic or manual transmissions, as there are lots of choices. The adult Apache Quads such as the RLX 250 can all be ridden off road as well as on road.
