WHAT IS A ROAD LEGAL ATV?

Road Legal ATVs are classed as a quadricycle, and are registered as a Private Light Goods Vehicle. As such they qualify for the lowest band of Road Fund Licence.

They can also be registered as a Special Concessionary Vehicle if used in an agricultural, horticultural or forestry environment, where they will benefit from zero-rated Road Tax (proof required by the VRO).

The Apache Road Legal Range of Quads/ATVs comply with all EC requirements and are homologated (granted approval) for use by up to two people on a public highway without restriction. To ride on the road you must have a full car driving licence, or full motorcycle licence if issued before February 2001.
