Quad: Apache F100S Racing Quad

Venue: 2010 Series

I attended the welsh ORPA MX Champioship round 1 at Lledrod MX track, mid Wales today. Left home at 6-45am to travel to Lledrod, mid Wales. Track was situated on top of a mountain and track ran between two steep valleys, not many jumps there but it was a very long and steep track with plenty of full throttle riding. There were only five 100cc quads entered at this venue, I managed to finish with two 3rd places and a 2nd place to leave me 3rd overall for the day, which we were happy with as the two in front of me were running fully modified engines compared to my standard F100s engine. Next week it is Wroxton, Banbury for round 1 of Nora MX and the week after it's Templeton, West Wales for Round 2 Welsh ORPA MX Championship.

P.S. Thanks dad for today, you did well looking after me and looking after yourself considering you need to inject insulin 4 times a day now, cheers dad.

From Apache - A great start to the new season - well done you! Keep it up!

Sophie Bailey - Age 10.

Quad: Apache F100 Works Racing Quad

Venue: 2009 Series

I started racing last March and rode with Gravity and Wyre Forest and got 4th place in the championships (Wyre Forest) under 10s in the winter championships. I have had a 2nd and two 1sts places. I rode in the summer Gravity rounds in the B class but this year I have been put up to the Pro Class. I came 5th in the summer Gravity LC Champs I had a second and a 1st in the last two races. I also had 5th place in the Weston Beach race not bad for a girl!

From Apache: Well done Sophie! As you said, 'not bad for a girl' - the boys had better watch out for you!

October 2009

Hayley Magowan

Quad: Apache F50 Racing Quad.

Venue: 2009 Series

The season for Hayley runs from May to October and riding the Northcot Quads F50ZR she takes part in two Junior racing championships. Because there is not a class for her F50ZR she has to compete against larger cc machines which makes the fact that this season shes has won not one but two championships a truly remarkable achievement for this very talented young rider. She is already looking forward to next season when she will ride the "Team Northcot Quads Racing" F100ZR.

From Apache: Well done Hayley on your superb achievements this season on your Apache F50. Good luck next season, we're sure you'll show the boys how it's done!

18 October 2009

Daniel Harries, Ammanford

Quad: Apache F100 Racing Quad.

Venue: Nora-MX - Bletchingdon 18 October 09

Left home on Saturday lunchtime for the last round Nora-MX at Bletchingdon, Oxfordshire. Went out in practice but my quad wasn't pulling like it normally does so dad changed the drive belt and rollers before my first race. Quad was better but I found the track very demanding and hard to pass on and by the last race of the day I was tiring quickly. Dad asked why I wasn't my normal self riding today and I said that racing every weekend for the last 5 weekends has taken its toll on me. He agreed as he was feeling the same, but I still managed to finish 8th overall for the day.

From Apache: It's been a long season Daniel, especially after Weston Beach Race last weekend. No wonder you are tired!

10 October 2009

Daniel Harries, Ammanford

Quad: Apache F100 Racing Quad.

Venue: Weston Beach Race - 10th October 2009.

Left home thursday morning to travel to the Weston Beach Race weekend, signed on and scrutineered on Friday and put my quad in park ferme ready for saturday. This was my first ever Weston Beach Race so plenty of advice available from friends that had done it before! I came off my quad halfway through the race but got back on and finished the full hour race. I was placed 3rd in class after the race but was then placed 4th in class by the organisers much to my dissapointment.

From Apache: Well done Daniel for taking part and doing so well at this amazing event. We are sure you'll be trying again next year!

23 August 2009

Jack Harvey, West Midlands

Quad: Apache F100 Racing Quad.

Apache Quads Sponsored Rider

A very early 4am start to drive to Torquay to race with Gravity LC. After a bad start due to riders jockeying for position, Jack was 9th into the first corner. He managed to pull up to 5th within the first lap and after much effort and a bike and rider working in harmony he managed to finish in a well deserved 2nd! Thanks for all your help, Paul's skills (Apache mechanic!) and the efforts of your team. The Harvey Family.
Race Report from Jack Harvey - Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th September 2009 - another early start racing at Stourport-on-Severn, Worcestershire. The weather was beautiful and the turn out was good. A TV crew from 'Blood, Sweat and Gears' came to film the race to show on Sky in a few weeks. The race got of to a good start over a rough track. I managed to finish in second place after a lot of effort. On Sunday 13th we set of again to Stourport-on-Severn for the last round of the series, again there was a good turn out and another sunny day. I managed to take get the whole shot and lead for the first three laps. Unfortunately I had a collision with a tree, which didn't hurt me or damage my bike! I fell into second place and held this throughout the rest of the race and and came over the line second.

Race Report from Jack Harvey - Sunday 20th September 2009 - we set off at 4.30am to race in Wrexham - a three and a half hour drive from home. There was a very good turn out for all the classes and again the sun was shinning. The sighting lap gave a good opportunity to check out the track, which was challenging with mound after mound to negotiate. Unfortunately the track was very tough and I pushed my bike to the limit and managed to break my rear axle in half! Obviously I didn't finish, but we still had a great day.
